Summary
The following topics were discussed and demonstrated during this session. Please make sure these topics are understood before proceeding to the next session. Future assessments may include key topics from this session.
- Dimensions are inserted into the workspace to annotate a sketch and are, by default, associative. Any changes made to the sketch will automatically be updated in the associated dimension.
- Changes made to inserted dimensions are done using the Properties palette.
- Center Marks insert a center line onto an arc or circle; Centerlines can be inserted onto a rectangle by selecting 2 sets of parallel lines.
- Dimensional tolerances are used to indicate the allowable upper and lower deviation, such as actual, maximum etc from the basic dimensional size.
- Leader arrows are used to annotate a feature that requires a dimensional arrow and descriptive text.
- Text is used descriptively to annotate a sketch or model. Single or multiline text can be input. Changes made to inserted text are done using the Properties palette.
- A hatch pattern is used to fill a 2D closed boundary, to show distinguishing features, such as concrete etc. Such boundaries are hatched using the Pick Points option.
- All hatch patters, on insertion are created associatively. This means the pattern will correspondingly update when its associated object is updated.
- The Wipeout tool occludes an area by defining a polygonal shape around the area to be concealed.
- The Revision Cloud tool creates a markup facility whereby a revision cloud can be added to an area of the workspace.
